Latest STAR Project - Smoking Cessation in the Perioperative Period

Congratulations to Swati Gupta who who the latest STAR project pitch for a study looking at smoking cessation around the time of surgery.

This study will aim to assess the proportion of patients attending for elective surgery that smoke, any changes in their pre-operative smoking habits and see what was advice given.

It will also look to assess anaesthetist’s attitudes and actions towards smoking cessation pre operatively.

We are currently drawing up a study protocol and are looking forward to lauching data collection in 2020. Further updates will be released on the wbesite once they are available.
